He’s not wrong.

First response he probably gets is, “so, will you take $400?”

If he really only wants $500 he’s way off the mark at a $600 ask. To get an honest $500 offer he needs to be asking a minimum of $1500 maybe even $2000. At $600 he might get lucky with a couple of $250 offers.

Wow, your CL is brutal...

Could have just said “$500 FIRM”. You don’t have to play “the game” if you don’t want to.
NP if all it needs is a battery.

It’s a bit more than just a battery

It is. I had one of my trikes and all of it’s spare parts for sale recently.
815 “figure out what you want for it?”
Me “it says $1500 in the ad”
815 “yeah, but for real. What’s the lowest”
Me “$2000"
815 “you have my # when you’re serious”
That’s one reason why I’ll never sell my truck. (I also lost the title and refuse to pay Illinois $95 for a replacement!)

Oh geez, it’s not even drivable. I wouldn’t pay $400 for that.

“So, what’s the lowest you’ll take?”
